Romita JR. is so disappointing. I'm really tired of them or him recycling his better work from 20+ years ago.
That last page is nasty, gross nasty. I feel like the church of blood is a little over used but I’m glad he’s doing something which, right now, appears to be different. Stills interested to see where this is going.
Love the art.
ALL HAIL THE CHURCH OF BLOOD! With their newest leader, Brother Eternity, going public with a former Titan as part of his flock, the church has more followers than ever before. Do the Titans stand a chance at influencing the people of the world to fight brainwashing and prepare for the large intergalactic threat looming on the horizon?
It was fine. Start of a new arc, I’d be more excited if I knew anything about the Ric era since we’re surprisingly going back there, but I dropped the book during it.
Sail the high seas with Nightwing and Batgirl as they journey across the ocean in search of the Hold’s secret society that dates back to when Blüdhaven was founded. We saw previously in Nightwing #99 that the Hold’s vault held several safes…and here we’ll find out there has always been one left for Nightwing.
Here we are again with a bunch of people over-hating on Tini Howard for whatever reason. That's all I'll say about that. As for the issue itself, I must say that I felt as though it was the weakest issue of the Gotham War crossover so far. I might have given this a 6.5 initially, but I really enjoyed how Howard wrote Nightwing and I also liked the twist at the end of the issue. Hopefully this is jmore
BATMAN/CATWOMAN: THE GOTHAM WAR PART 3! The Gotham War, part three. While Batman finds himself more and more isolated, Selina is never alone. With a volunteer army and two powerful generals by her side, the ballet between her and Bruce enters its next act with a shocking twist.

Solid issue, the art was done very well and fit the vibe.
Biggest downside is Paul’s stupid face is in it.
SPIDER-MAN'S HUNT CONTINUES! Who is Peter's next victim? The penultimate chapter of a story you'll never forget!

Sets up status quo for the arc with a new zone and interesting twist at the end.
If you’ve been on the fence on staying on, back off the book says issue 36 will be the end.

Fun/goofy Silk run.
TIME'S UP! Silk has tried and failed to stop an evil witch from terrorizing New York. Now the witch is putting her grand plan into motion. What IS the witch's plan? And what'll happen to the city - and the world - if Silk is too late?!

Still curious to see how this plays out. Feels a little rushed overall, makes the train if thought of everyone less believable.
BATMAN/CATWOMAN: THE GOTHAM WAR PART 2! Batman descends on Gotham City, full of rage and force, more driven than ever to save his home. But the new landscape has turned friends into foes. Can anyone stop his reign of terror? Should they? The Gotham War continues in this second chapter!
Alright folks, I’m going to give this the benefit of the doubt, mostly because I think Zdarsky is doing some interesting things with Batman. Bruce’s desperate belief that he needs to maintain the persona of “Batman”—that of a relentless crime fighter who cannot show any display of humanity—has been a really good deconstruction of the character, and the fact that crime has gone down in more
THE BAT/CAT WAR STARTS HERE! Crime is down in Gotham City... Could that be a bad thing? A coordinated effort in Gotham has led to a reduction in violent crime, but at what cost? Villains scatter as their lives begin to crumble under a new regime. And as Batman recovers from his epic battle through the Multiverse and the horrors of Knight Terrors, o...
I thought this setup nicely, putting Bruce in a position where he has to question what he’s doing. Apparently I’m disagreed with but I’m curious to see where this goes.

Another great one by Wells? Keep MJ away and he does good work?
SPIDER-MAN'S FIRST HUNT! The hunter is now the prey. Can Kraven survive?

This is likely the best #1 I have ever read, I’m very excited to see where this goes.

AL EWING, MARTIN COCCOLO & ALEX ROSS GIVE THE GOD OF THUNDER THE "IMMORTAL" TREATMENT! In Norse myths, they called him Thunderer. Vuer has he been called, and Hloriddi. The Gods know him as Asgard's King, keeper of Mjolnir, hero of the tales. When injustice grips the Earth and ancient powers bring down the sky, he fights for those who cannot - and ...
When I heard Al Ewing was writing the next Thor book, and giving it the Immortal tag, I couldn’t be more hype for anything else this year. Thor is my favorite character in fiction, and what Ewing has done here in the first issue is nothing less than a masterpiece. The art is stellar, and the story immediately feels epic and big. Jaw dropping, page turning goodness, easy 10/10.

HATED the prior story arc and everything they’re doing with MJ. This book? This was great. The art on the Kraven pages? Stupendous.
*feel that it’s worth mentioning someone who hated the prior arc enjoyed this issue.
Two of Spider-Man's villains are forming the deadliest team-up he's ever had to face. But are they after Spidey? Or is he just in the way of something bigger? Patrick Gleason rejoins the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN crew for the darkest arc of Amazing Spider-Man yet!

I don’t love the sidekick idea, but Spider-Boy is a fun character. Nice story.
(RE)INTRODUCING - SPIDER-BOY!
The battle to save the Spider-Verse may be over, but spinning out of the restored Web of Life and Destiny returns the spectacular SPIDER-BOY, Peter Parker's stupendous sidekick! Wait, that can't be right - who IS this Spider-Boy, and what is his connection to the Amazing Spider-Man?!

Good action, Miles going through it at the end, and I love how Vicentini draws Hobgoblin.
Look for more information on this title in future issues of Marvel Previews.
Still fun, will tune in to see the ending in #5.

I’m enjoying the adventure. Nothing ground breaking but pretty fun.
SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES! A powerful, ancient witch is draining the life force out of young people! Silk has to figure out how to stop her before she claims another victim. But Silk doesn't know that SHE is the witch's next target!

There’s a lot to like in the story, really. But how they ended the primary story was beyond frustrating. Again Marvel billing something big for sales, and it’s not. More stuff that was previously setup potentially thrown down the drain - emphasis on potentially. This could be a drama turn that leads somewhere. Billing/marketing something for something it’s not will always bring down scores fmore
SPECIAL OVER-SIZED ISSUE!
IT'S THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR!
Peter Parker is the best man, and Tombstone is walking the bride down the aisle! That's right - Janice Lincoln and Randy Robertson are tying the knot, and there's NO WAY all the crime bosses in NYC aren't seeing this as an opportunity to off Tombstone. This story sets up our big Spid...
in all complete brutal honesty, its not bad. but its not good either. This comic book is just plain old okay.
art was inconsistent, and I do like how we see Mary Jane and Paul grow closer together. Kaare Andrews is a great artist, I wish that person was doing the run. I get why Peter Parker is lashing out, but it still doesnt change the fact that Fantastic Four was the one acting out of more
The past and the present collide in this oversized and monumental 25th issue! Your heart isn't ready for this one.

This could have been an OK issue if I cared even a little bit about Paul and Rabin, but they're both really just ciphers to make the plot go where it needs to, and the plot isn't interesting or meaningful enough to bear the weight alone. It's not a bad explanation of where MJ's new family came from, but it's not a terribly involving one either

Since when was issue #25 of any series a "Landmark issue?" Soon Marvel will be celebrating issue #5.
It isn't terrible but it isn't very good either. A very average 5 out of 10 and that's mostly for the art. Nothing much happens in this hyped-up and oversized issue. We learn where the kids came from. And that's about all. Disappointing.
I enjoyed the art, especially Kaare An more

Grey I didn't know you reviewed here too. :) But this issue is just painful to read the art is great but the story is just garbage. I understand the deconstruction of a hero but this seems like total demolition. It make me dread the next issue.
@banditobane Yes, I drop a couple of reviews when I have time. The only problem with this site is the users who have multiple accounts just to review bomb certain writers. They never write any reviews, just throw out 1s or 10s for writers they seem to either love or hate.
I must admit, I don't see the hate for this issue. Another "passable" one, that you can read. I didn't really feel anything for this issue. This 6-part storyline has felt very messy, oddly paced, but I hoped it would get better. Now it's just... meh.
There isn't anything really here for me to grab. Art was fine I suppose. MJ's backstory was... fine I suppose? Some twist with the kids, b more

Feels like many members of the Outrage Brigade says "ignore this this trash and don't buy it or read it, let it be forgotten! Vote with your wallets!" every time a new issue is released and I just wonder are they trolling or that tense. But maybe I'm just a dumb-dumb who sometimes enjoys this "trash". Who knows.
It's totally fine to be disappointed with this series, it has problems, but to just say that's it's the worst thing ever just feels wrong to me.
My problem with this issue, and this entire run, hasn’t been the separation of MJ and Peter, it’s the circumstances around it. The status quo prior to this was completely disregarded and we just jumped into these new events. This seems more to me like Marvel wanting to sell books out of shock value and Wells wanting to force Felicia/Peter rather than telling a good story.
MJ, one o more
